Swanage is one of my favourite seaside towns that reminds you of a time gone by.
Although the town has plenty to keep everybody occupied there are none of the usual seaside attractions that turns an old town into a funfair.
The beach is clean, safe and inviting. There are lots of good, reasonably priced, cafes, restaurants and lots of great pubs!
There is also a good selection of campsites around the town or comfortable guest houses for those who prefer to rough it in style. |
|  | Something Old, Something New One of the features of this wonderful town is its pier. So when the old pier eventually rotted away the town decided to build a new one.
Not a "New" new pier but an exact replica of the old one.

| | Pier Funding In order to help fund the new pier people could buy a brass plate that is then fastened to a plank of the pier's decking.
It is still possible to buy a plate today so that you can declare your love for your partner, dog or favourite beer!
