  • It was first called the Cathedral of Saint Louis, King of France when it was built in 1720. Flanked by Cabildo and Presbytere, it is situated in the Jackson Square facing the Mississippi River. Jackson Square was then known as Plaza d’Armas and was a place where military parades were occasionally held before it became a market.

Outside Pontalba in front of the Park, Jazz street musicians and souvenir vendors littered the Square.

Yasmine, a thoughtful tribute to a place that needs to be remembered, so many lives have been affected. However, I imagine it will not be long before the French Quarter and Garden District are back in action. Let's hope they take care of other areas too.
