Welcome to Belfast

by hotsauce28 - last update: Jun 25, 2007

which way to Dublin?

city hall
I'm not sure what I think of Belfast just yet. I was only there for 2 days and the first impression I got was "oh my good lord, this is the armpit of Ireland".

I asked a man for directions and I didn't realize how drunk he was. He tried to climb into the car with me and then asked me if I had any bombs.

Then trying to find a place to eat was a nightmare. It looked like a complete ghost town (on a Saturday night!). BUT.... I ended my trip there on a Friday and the town was rocking!

Friday night

On our last day, we had to go back to Belfast to catch our plane. I really wasn't looking forward to it until I reached and it felt like a completely different city. It was lively, people were every where!

It was so packed that we couldn't find a place to stay. Every B&B and hotel was booked solid.

We finally found a room at the Days Inn (yippee...) and was able to relax for the night and had a great dinner at the best Indian restaurant!

D@MN fooligans!

So after a great night and dinner, we come out to get our car in the morning to be greeted by this and a note from the police dept on the window.

Goodbye Belfast...

"I asked a man for directions and I didn't realize how drunk he was. He tried to climb into the car with me and then asked me if I had any bombs." Brilliant. Did he want to borrow one?
