I arrived in Paris on June 21st, the longest day of the year. It was almost 11pm and the sun was just about to set. Amazing eh?
As soon as I step foot outside the main train station, I immediatly get a taste of French hospitality. Contrary to what I have heard, I don't seem to have a problem getting by with speaking English.
I noticed that even when they don't speak English well, they still try to help, at least the people I have bumped into.
But it wasn't until I left Paris when I started to appreciate how special it was. When I was there, all I could think of is how "unreal" this city is, where everything is crafted to look the same as it has for centuries. And it wasn't that clean of a city too.
Now, one year later, I found myself thinking more and more about this place, and appreciating the efforts that the Parisians had made in maintaining the historic feel of their city. It is definitely the place to be if you love art and architecture.
I have decided to go back to Paris summer of 2005 and hopefully this time will be able to get more out of this stay :) --and of course I have to go up the Eiffel tower this time around. |
