This page is dedicated to my travels and experiences starting from January 2002 when I leave Malaysia for the very first time and fly across the globe to the United States. Ever since then, I have travelling around and experiencing this world with its shades of colors. I have learnt and grown so much from what I have seen, that I promised myself to see at least one new country/place each year.
As I visited each place, I will try updating this site with my travel experience. However, I am a slow writer...so bear with me please :) |
| | New England Fall 2002 After leaving Penang (Malaysia), my home of 18 years, I flew almost 40 hours across the world and step foot on the soil of the United States of America, where I pretty much spend the next 4 years of my life.
Massachussets--the New England fall, is something I will ALWAYS remember. I'm leaving MA for good in May, and will be spending the next few years in Hong Kong. |
First Europe Backpacking Trip--Summer 2003 From Massachussets, I flew over to London and started my first ever backpacking trip in Europe. Paris->Switzerland->Italy->Barcelona->London. I have plenty of fond memories from this trip and I am sure I will never forget it. Thus, I am making sure that I will go back to Europe in the summer after graduation :) The picture shown is from my most favorite country in Europe--Switzerland. I love it, and hope to live there one day. | | | My idea of Paradise on Earth |

| | Hong Kong, Summer 2004 My journey through life brought me to Hong Kong for the summer of 2004. After spending 10 weeks there, I was totally ready to leave and missed US and Europe a lot.
Is this the place for me? Definitely not. But can I bear with it for the next few years? I guess I will have to huh? Perhaps if I think about the nice less-populated islands side of Hong Kong and not the metropolitan HKIsland. Lamma Island as shown in the picture is my most favorite place for seafood. This is where I had the best seafood of my LIFE. |
Vancouver, May 2004 Well, initially I thought Vancouver might be the perfect place to live. So I decided to check it out when my friend is still studying there.
I love the parks, the beautiful amazing sunsets and of course the lively downtown. But would I want to stay here for long? Probably not. It reminds me too much of Asia.
| | Florida--Winter Break 2004-2005 Thought I was smart to plan an escape from the winter chills of Massachussets to the warm sunny beaches of Florida. Turns out I was dead wrong. When I was in Orlando it was FREEZING. Miami was thankfully quite warm but breezy, so I wasn't a complete fool afterall. I love ALL the Disney characters I met! They reminds me of the Land of Eternal Bliss. |
New York City--My US All-time Favorite I LOVE New York! For the time being, it is my MOST favorite city in the US of A. It is soooo diverse, vibrant and lively that I practically sing with delight everytime I get there! I enjoy walking among the crowds in Times Square, because I never feel alone there! No Matter who you are, where you are from, you will never be alone in new york because you can easily find another person with a similar background. I love this place!
| | Hawaii--Paradise on Earth? Spring Break 2005. I finally got my feet onto the soft sand of beautiful hawaiian beaches. After 10 years of not swimming in a sea, I swam freely in the slightly cold water of Kailua beach Park and felt completely wonderful. :) |
