Getting TO/AROUND: Joe Carter - If in Europe, I would recommend traveling to Paris by bus, especially if the bus has comfortable seats. That was the case for the four of us, my ex-wife Birgul, Ryan Breaux, Tabitha Breaux (now Ryan's ex-wife) and Joe Carter (me) when we traveled to Paris by bus for New Year's 2004. We all slept a little on our trip before arriving at the hotel that we had reserved for us through a travel company. Although this was the one and only time that we all four traveled to Paris together, it was definitely an experience that we won't soon forget. Although it wasn't the bus' fault, we all got a knife pulled on us in the Paris metro, and we got tear gassed on 1 Jan 2004 when trying to make our way to our hotel. By the time we arrived, we had about 5 whole hours to sleep. We ended up walking around Paris on New Year's Eve and New Years 2004 for several of hours. Unfortunately, the Paris metro was slow, and we had missed our bus back to the hotel we were staying at.

suzyav8trix Mon May 30, 2005 18:26 UTC Standing in line for the Eiffel Tower a waste of time? Maybe in Las Vegas. If you and your wife ever get another opportunity -- GO! If it's warm and dry , go at night -- it's one of the most romantic things my husband (of nearly 16 years) and I have done. | themajor Tue Apr 26, 2005 14:54 UTC Ah, the delights of Paris! I must get there this year...but I'll make sure I pack my panama, brogues, moustache wax, gas mask and flak jacket. Sorry you had a rough welcome...I thought it was the snarling waiters you had to watch out for! | madamx Mon Apr 25, 2005 22:41 UTC Ah, Paris the city of lights ... and of teargas? At least you'll laugh about it in 6 months? maybe? :o) ~ Helen | sachara Sun Apr 24, 2005 18:45 UTC Nice you return to Paris next month ! |
