  • Favorite Thing: Joe Carter - There is the occasional street musician to be found in the Paris Metro. Since many of them are either trying to make extra money or the gig may be their only source of income, I would encourage that you tip them on how well you think they perform. I have always enjoyed and respected most of the street musicians that I have come in contact with. This happens to be the first one that the group of us that were traveling with came across in the Paris Metro. Needless to say, this guy was pretty good at his craft. He, like most of the other street musicians that we came across, was pretty friendly.

Standing in line for the Eiffel Tower a waste of time? Maybe in Las Vegas. If you and your wife ever get another opportunity -- GO! If it's warm and dry , go at night -- it's one of the most romantic things my husband (of nearly 16 years) and I have done.

Ah, the delights of Paris! I must get there this year...but I'll make sure I pack my panama, brogues, moustache wax, gas mask and flak jacket. Sorry you had a rough welcome...I thought it was the snarling waiters you had to watch out for!

Ah, Paris the city of lights ... and of teargas? At least you'll laugh about it in 6 months? maybe? :o) ~ Helen
