  • Luggage And Bags: Pack light. Bali is tropical all year round, and apart from the old monsoon when its still very muggy, you will find that a singlet and shorts are still necessary!!

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: I only packed singlets, bikinis, shorts and t-shirts, and a pair of going out shoes like high heels, and jandals (thongs). I still suggest one pair of pants and a jersey, just for some of the "colder" nights!!

Toiletries & Medical Supplies: I strongly advise mossie repellent!! And sunscreen!!! I suffered serious sun burn. As im used to the new zealand sun, i know when im getting burnt, you can see it and feel it. But in Bali i just felt warm, and showed no signs of being burnt. Until i got up to the hotel room and revealed some seriously TOMATO skin!! Those two supplies are essential!!

Photo Equipment: My family only took over a standard camera. To be honest there wasnt a lot to take pictures of, except slums, and dirty streets...But i did catch this awesome photo of 30 Balinese playing soccer on the beach at sunset!!! Looks great!!! I suggest for a two week trip, 5 films will be ideal.

Camping/Beach/Outdoor Gear: None, stay at a hotel!!

Your page brought back nice memories about our trip to Bali ten years ago. And I had a laugh reading about your problems with humidity. My wife had the same. During the first day she blamed me for bringing her to this place. But later she enjoyed it.

The monkey forrest reminds me of the Monkeys in Gibraltar. Good tips for someone who has never been to Bali, useful and informative. Kat

I've to agree with you on 1 thing, everything is cheap, cheap, cheap in Bali. Was there last month, but that won't be my last.
