Getting TO/AROUND: One word is "chaos"...Prices are of course low, but i can honestly say i soiled myself time and time again. There is no road rules in Bali, just a honk on the horn so other drivers know your behind them, or a couple honks to say hey im turning right! Personally i didnt find this very comforting. Not for the weak, or crybabies like me. Most things are central and easily accessed on foot. So do save you money, get a bit of exercise, and possibly stop yourself from being killed, WALK! I dont recommend biking around either! Even worst =)

Your page brought back nice memories about our trip to Bali ten years ago. And I had a laugh reading about your problems with humidity. My wife had the same. During the first day she blamed me for bringing her to this place. But later she enjoyed it.

The monkey forrest reminds me of the Monkeys in Gibraltar. Good tips for someone who has never been to Bali, useful and informative. Kat

I've to agree with you on 1 thing, everything is cheap, cheap, cheap in Bali. Was there last month, but that won't be my last.
