Bali Tourist Trap Tips by hailsbails

Walking along the main streets in Bali, our family often found ourselves being offered to take this card and that card, scratch this and win 1000 dollars!!! Except one day something was different, we actually got 3 symbols that all matched up...We claimed our prize to the man, he said oww great you have to get in this car and we will take you to this great place. An hour later we were still travelling in this little car. No idea of where we were and where we were going. By this stage we thought we were being taken hostage. And quietly ***ting our pants. We did however end up at a luxurious looking hotel. Only to find we really had been dooped, there was no real prize except these little discount coupons. And some man who was trying to get us to invest in his hotel...Overall, a waste of a day!!!

At Least Do This: My best advice is: Stay away completely from everything someone is trying to offer you on the streets!!! (Except the perfume) Maybe that is public knowledge..My family arent really smart travellers, but just for people who are a little clueless like us, just a tip to just forget about it, you will end up wasting a day just for little coupons that you will never ever use!!
Alternative: I am quite stumped on an alternative. But mainly just stick to the main parts around Kuta Beach, you will find some good bargins there and wont be stuck with people offering you rubbish!!
