  • We spent a day at Waterbom Park and Spa. It was a huge water park, that had many rides to suit the old and young!!! I had to recommend this as, it was a nice quiet day break away from the hustle and bustle of people trying to barter with you in the streets!! If you have children, or are at any age and need a real relaxing break, i definately have to say go to waterbom park!! I promise everyone will feel refreshed.

    Things To Do: Monkey Forest
  • Tip Rating:
  • Bali - Three cheeky monkeys!!
  • Three cheeky monkeys!!

  • It was on our trip around the small island of Bali. When we stopped off in a forest to have some lunch. Then we were told its the monkey forest. So eating our food quickly before some cheeky monkey snatched it up, we ventured off into the forest. There they were, hundreds of them, quite happy with all the tourists surrounding them, with bananas, even sitting on your shoulder. Of course they had to be smart and crap on you!! But thats life too!! It was definately something different. And worth a look for animal lovers, to see monkeys getting on with life in their natural environment, no cages or fences. Just pure freedom the way it should be!

    Things To Do: Dancing Dragon
  • Tip Rating:
  • A local ceremony that took place 1 hour out of Kuta, on our "roadtrip" I cant be much use to you for this tip, i dont remember where it was, and neither do my parents. But it was a really interesting story. With a great scene, and dancers. There was a story line but i cant remember it, haha thats how great it was (-;

    Things To Do: Balinese Carvers!
  • Tip Rating:
  • On our roadtrip, we stopped off at a wooden carving shop. It was amazing what the Balinese can do with a plank of wood. The items are for sale inside, and they are rather pricey, and so they should be. It would have taken weeks to carve some of the stuff we saw, for example the table that me and my dad were sitting at. The detail is just amazing. Its definately worth a look!! And if you have the room to take some items home, do it!!!

     Your page brought back nice memories about our trip to Bali ten years ago. And I had a laugh reading about your problems with humidity. My wife had the same. During the first day she blamed me for bringing her to this place. But later she enjoyed it.

     The monkey forrest reminds me of the Monkeys in Gibraltar. Good tips for someone who has never been to Bali, useful and informative. Kat

     I've to agree with you on 1 thing, everything is cheap, cheap, cheap in Bali. Was there last month, but that won't be my last.
