I was in Coba several weeks after Hurricane Wilma and the lake in front of Coba was flooded. They had an interesting "alternative route" into the park. I found the fact that there is still jungle around the ruins refreshing and less stark than Chichen Itza (shade good :). |

| Cheap bike rental a must! |
|  | The bike is worth it! By all means - rent a bike! You can get one a little ways inside the entry gate. I think it was around $4.00 for all day. It not only gets you to some of the outer ruins more quickly, it stirs up a nice breeze in a place where it's VERY welcome. That jungle gets HOT and sticky. |
