Fiamma- at the MGM Grand: Avoid this Place at MGM Grand
  • Tip Rating: [Not enough ratings yet]
  • Satisfaction:
  • Restaurant Name: Fiamma- at the MGM Grand

We were going to see KA at MGM, so against my better veteran of Las Vegas judgement, we opted for a restaraunt in the hotel. Should have known better.

This place may have done well in Soho, New York, but I don't get the draw. Although decorated nicely, the menu is very limited, and the prices are way out of whack for what you actually get. We can afford to eat at any place, but I don't like overpaying for poor quality, or small portions of food.

There were no vegetarian options on the menu...everything had meat or was meat based, or had meat on it. The waiter said they could do some vegetarian options, but you almost felt as if it were an insult to the chef. There were only 6 pasta dishes, and a few other selections of chicken and veal chop. No other traditional Italian selections. I am not a picky eater, but I found the menu to be a drawback, as did the rest of my party.

Both pasta dishes we ordered, both vegetarian version and regular, were salty and WAY overpriced. In fact, every entre on there was WAY overpriced. I really object to a small bowl of ravioli for $26. Give me a break. It wasn't even that good. The meat my friend ordered was also salty.

We didn't have any alcohol, and our bill for four was over $150, even with my wife's selection getting sent back for being inedible. Olive Garden would have been better.

Favorite Dish: The Caeser salad was good, for $10. We split it and it was more than enough. Took 25 minutes to get the salad, but the main course folllwed 5 minutes later. That was good, since the show was starting in ten minutes.

I would avoid this place for a number of reasons....food quality, overpriced and limited menu.

Bartolotta at the Wynn Resort: Want to overpay for dinner?
  • Tip Rating: [Not enough ratings yet]
  • Satisfaction:
  • Restaurant Name: Bartolotta at the Wynn Resort

Okay...in all my trips to Vegas, I had never been to the Wynn. I got tickets for Le Reve, so I figured we would eat there prior to the show. I went on line and reviewed the Wynn eateries, and selected Bartolotta. We found the place to be beautiful, as I knew it would be. We arrived 10 minutes earlier and wandered to the bar for a glass of wine each. They got us for our table and asked us to settle the bill....$33 with tax for two glasses of house wine! I should have known that was a sign of things to come.

On line, I didn't really think the prices were too far out of line. Once there, and faced with splitting a fish between the two of us based on weight, I knew this was going to be expensive.

The risotto appetizer was excellent, and the salad was good, but small. We selected a fish and wondered if my math background would help me figure out the price. It didn't. They brought a huge fish, and carved it tableside. By the time he was done ( I called it an autopsy to my wife), we had a small serving of fish with three sides. Total for just that....$110! It wasn't that good and certainly wasn't worth the price. A huge fish turned into bait!

I couldn't even bring myself to order dessert or coffee....even though I am not cheap and can certainly afford it. I just don't like getting gouched and not having an A+ experience.

Favorite Dish: Ummm.....the appetizer Risotto was good and we should have doubled it and had it for the meal. Otherwise, a very uneventful dinner. There are way too many reasonably priced finer restaurants to eat at to ever send peolpe here. I would have been happier going across the street to Maggione's...even though it is a chain! Total bill for two adults with two drinks was $230...with tip...and we walked away unhappy.

Service was fine by the way, but for that price, you should get a massage.

    Hannah's Neighborhood Bistro: Great Asian/Sushi
  • Tip Rating: [Not enough ratings yet]
  • Satisfaction:
  • Restaurant Name: Hannah's Neighborhood Bistro

There are so many retail places near the Red Rock that I was in shock! Within 3 miles of the hotel is every store and restaurant you can imagine. I asked the bellman for a good sushi place, since Red Rock doesn't have one. He sent me to Hannah's. Located near Target (usually a bad sign) this place was beautiful! The inside was well done and we arrived early (5:30pm) so no wait. There is a sushi bar, and waterfall, and bamboo all around. Nice place to hang out for a while.

We ordered sushi, appetizers and one drink. everything was excellent and the service was very good. Seems like a great place to get out of the hotel and have a nice meal and a fair price.

Favorite Dish: The vegetarian rolls for appetizers were excellent in the sauce they provide. Salad was good and the sushi was nicely done. They have some nice combo suchi packages for those with big appetites. Full Asian menu with lots of cooked choices.
