Mojacar Playa consists of over 5 km of bars, hotels, restaurants, shops and cafes. 50% of the population is non-spanish and over 50 years old. The beach now boasts several English supermarkets and businesses. A new paseo (walkway) runs a third of the length of the beach. The atmosphere, once considered bohemian, is now more cosmopolitan with many people bringing their culture and talents to work and live in area.During the summer months the beach is crowded, but much less so than most other coastal resorts in Spain. Mojacar Pueblo With its priveliged location, Mojacar is visible from many miles away; distinctive whitewashed sugar cube houses stacked one upon another separated by twisting cobbled streets, winding steps and old arches. Due to its staggered The views available from most buildings are The ancient village has been restored carefully over the past few decades. Features of historical interest remain in its architecture : the fountain, the old city walls and its "puertas" (gates). Restaurants, bars and craftshops lay waiting to be discovered along with the hospitality of the friendly locals.

In the summer the Mojácar area attracts visitors from all over the globe and is undoubtedly the most cosmopolitan place in the whole region. Its bars stay open until the early hours every night. In the winter the village is quieter, although the country life and the village bars and restaurants sustain a pleasant and charming atmosphere.
As you can see the town is only a short stones throw from the beach. with plenty of open space around to explore. (more to follow)
