Nova Scotia and then Beyond!

I just got back from a very spontaneous trip to Nova Scotia. It My grandmother is from Cape Breton Island. So it's really fun to go and enjoy seeing where she grew up and exploring some of her heritage.

It was a road trip. Which is pretty ambitious all the way from Boston to the tip of Cape Breton Island and back in a week and a half. But we managed it, and even came back feeling very relaxed and rested!

Cape Breton Island - a sentimental journey

Cape Breton Island is a fairly small piece of land that Ive come to think of as somewhat like a doughnut. It's a rounding island, with a hollow filled wiht a huge irregular shaped lake in the middle!

But it's one of the most beautiful countries Ive ever seen. Ive been there many times, and each time I manage to see something new and different! This time I focused alot on the coal mining aspect and history of CBI. When I went the time before this, several years ago, I focused alot on the early Scots settlers of CBI - who are of course my ancestors.

A trip to CBI is always a sentimental journey
