It's a scene right out of a story book. A pool that in the summer cooled thousands of hot Boston children transforms into a skating pond. Go skating at night when the snow falls. Dress in your warmest clothing, dont forget a fluffy scarf. Everyone wears them in Boston. (even indoors) - and skate around the pond, holding hands with your favorite person! It's truly magical! If you dont own skates you can rent them there. And there is a burger stand where you can get something to eat and a drink to warm up.

If you are out by the Commons and by Beacon Hill take a walk around the New State House. It is a really beautiful building and it has lots of interesting statues and commerative plaques around. Try to find the donkey statues, my kids like to try to ride on them!

The North End is a lovely part of Boston to stroll around. Get a good friend or loved one (loved one is better, as the North End is very romantic) and some comfy shoes and walk all around the North End. It is largely an Italian neighborhood, and the buildings are beautiful old brick. You'll find pastry shops that can not be beat anywhere (Mike's Pastry comes to mind) and they have great cappucinos, and for dinner your choices are amazing, and I have to say that Ive never heard of anyone having a bad dinner at any restaurant in the North End. You will also find the Old North Church where Paul Revere saw the lamps alerting the Bostonians that the British armies were coming. And there are beautiful churches to explore and lovely tucked away gardens to discover (try the one directly in front of the Old North Church behind the Paul Revere statue) Everything you could need to know is in the website below!

When my sisters and I were small my parents would take us out to Boston for the day, and one of our favorite things to do was to go to Faneuil Hall! It is a great big outdoor market, housed in some wonderfullly beautiful historic buildings. In the center there there is a food court. And recently I took a British friend there, and he could not belive the amazing food choices that there were! He was thrilled. Outside the center are lots of kiosks where you can buy any number of fun things! There are also bars, restaurants, and coffee shops! The atmosphere is almost party like and the people are freindly and fun!

I should mention that Quincy Market and Fanuiel Hall are almost used interchangabley. However, Quincy Market is really the proper name of the market area that is in front of the Fanuiel Hall. The Hall is an old Historic Building. My sister enjoying a day at Quincy Market! Woo Hoooo!

For a really nice day, take the family out to wander around the Boston Common. My picture shows a very snowy Boston Common, but I can assure you it isnt always so cold. In the Spring the commons just burst with flowers, and there are many fountains to enjoy. There is a great playground for the kids (which I especially like cause there is only one way in and out) There are beautiful monuments to look at and learn more about Boston's history.

The Museum of Science is PACKED with fun things to do for kids of all ages! My sons absolutely adore a day there. They like it there so much that we get a yearly membership. They have exhibits that are constantly changing and they have exhibits that have become old favorites! The big Tyrannosaurus is one of the old favorites.
