This is my Home

Here is my house. It was built in 1941, so it is almost 65 years old. And it has a bomb shelter in the basement.
Beach Rocks!

Beaches

We have really lovely rocky beaches here in New England. Here are my husband and boys playing and having fun. It's not as warm as Mexico, but it is still a good time. Most often earlier in the year, we need wetsuits to go into the ocean, but by August, the ocean is usually above 65 degrees.. brrrrr!

Moonlight Murder at SmuttyNose Island

Ever hear the tale of the Moonlight Murder at Smuttynose Island? - It's about a woman named Maren Hondtvent who lived alone with her husband, here sister, her brother, his wife on this very cold New England island all winter and one night the family was horribly killed by an axe weilding mad-man. All the women on the island were found bloody and dead, except for Maren who hid in a freezing cold cave. She was found the next day by her husband and brother, bloodied, barely alive and barely conscious. A drifter man from Portsmouth was convicted. But on her deathbed, Maren confessed to the crime, it seems she went just a little bit loco. Here's where it happened. Right there on the right side of the picture is Smuttynose Island.

A great book to read if you want to know more about it is "The Weight of Water" by Anita Shreve.

The left side is Star Island.

The Strange Brew Tavern. It's located in Manchester, NH and has over 60 different beers on tap. Also, live entertainment on the weekends and very good food.
