Two Crazy American Ladies come to Dublin | The beautiful temple bar area |
Dublin Ireland is a place that I have wanted to go for a very long time! My sister and I recently took a trip, as we usually do; without kids, no husbands, boyfriends, fiance's! Just she and I! It was wonderful. Dublin is a place of amazing beauty. The architecture, the smiles on the friendly faces, the coast, the castles! It is truly magical and amazing. I cant wait to go back!
There's lots more Ill say.. look at the tips and stuff to see more pictures and read more random stories. |
| | The Temple Bar Normally, Im not one to go in for the big tourist attraction kind of thing. I like to go to places where locals would go, where Im likely to meet the 'real' people rather than a bunch of other tourists. I have nothing against tourists mind you. Im a tourist quite frequently myself actually!
So my sister nearly had to drag me to the Temple Bar area of Dublin. Well, not drag me literally, but she did have to mention it a couple of times before I got the hint that she really wanted to go! So when I finally did realize she really wanted to go, I wanted to go too!
And I am SO glad we went. YES, we met alot of tourists, and NO, we didnt meet a single Irish person while we were there that night. But we had a wonderful wonderful wonderful time. We met so many great people, and drank lots of Guiness and danced and talked with our new friends! They werent the locals we usually go for, but instead we met people from all over the world. We met Vern, a fellow American from Arizona, Vike, a lovely Swiss man, Jasper and his boss (never got his name) they were from Denmark, and Allison, a charming albeit completely pissed lady from NewCastle upon Tyne.
We got there very early in the evening. We went in just after dinner, and we found a seat at the bar right near where people order drinks. We wondered if this was really 'the' Temple Bar, because it was so uncrowded. However, we didnt wonder long, because soon the band started playing and the place filled up! I very much advise people who, like us, like to meet people to sit at the bar, because everyone that wanted a drink had to - well, pretty much get through us and our tangle of friends! So we met so many people!

It's All about Grafton Street!~ It is ALL about Grafton Street. I feel like my sister and I got to know Grafton Street pretty well. It was right near our hotel, and it seemed like everywhere we wanted to go we either had to walk down it, go across it, or go near it! We did do all the shopping on Grafton Street, and had a great time! But it's a good place to just sit and people watch too! | | |
