Grouse Mountain skiing

For some skiing action just a public bus ride away, why not head up to Grouse Mountain? It overlooks the city and can be reached cheaply and easily. In the summer, it is a beautiful place to go for a hike and a picnic with fab views, in winter it's all decorated with tiny lights and the ski slopes are lots of fun for skiing and snowboarding!

Directions: By public transport, take the SeaBus to the Lonsdale Quay in North Van. Then take bus #236 to Grouse Mountain 'or' take bus #246 on West Georgia St across the Lions Gate Bridge to Edgemont Village. Then take bus #232 to the Grouse Mountain car park.

Fancy a spot of nudism?

For an eye opening experience, head to "Wreck Beach" down a very steep set of steps at the end of the UBC campus. The stairs are just behind Place Vanier student accomodation, and they will take you down to a beach full of washed up logs and naked people! Some of them are just there for an afternoon of sun, others make their home there, setting up tents and even decorating their area with dream catchers made out of items washed up and left behind by others.
