In the good 'ol Texas

Don't mess with Texas, is the adage that goes around here, and it rings plenty of truth in this very unique state among the 50 states of United States of America... the immense land that never seems to end, and the humongous SUV's that prowls the highways, and a very large and varied foriegn community, including Hispanics, and a few expats mainly from oil-companies. The common misconception is that everyone in Texas carries a gun, maybe not everyone carries one, but you know you're in trouble if the individual is driving a truck with dry mud at the sides of the tires, and is wearing a cowboy hat.

Houston was just named the fattest city four times in five years. But how fair is this research? Yes, we may serve twice as large a serving as they do in most cities, and yes, we may not have that much green land for us Houstonians to exercise on, but do we really deserve this title? This research was based on several factors such as park space*wait a minute, this sounds fishy*, air quality, number and types of restaurants, weather and number of health clubs. Nevertheless no matter what the factors may be, is it truly a title we want to be proud of?
