Asia in Malaysia

by bluepigsinthesky - last update: Jan 26, 2005

Malaysia

a group of malaysian ladies.
A country of a very large variety of races from malay, to chinese and indians including a dozen others, this country has since established itself since gaining independence on 31 Aug 1957. In the major city of Kuala Lumpur, skyscrapers can be found everywhere... where else certain countryside towns are relatively untouched by the growth spurt... A very curious mix of the ethnic groups, malaysians are very erratic creatures... horrible road-side manners, very friendly, n altogether very Malaysian!!!! Foreigners are welcome with open hands, though be careful, as they tend to be very curious over the physical, and cultural difference.

gettin around in this country

transportation in malaysia is just another unique trait of this nation.. we have the national producer of cars: Proton. This car manufacturer is one of the most common cars you'll find here... though the Kancil really rivals all of this cars... drivers of this cars really should be avoided at all cost-may cost serious mental problems... they are tiny, and lethal... being able to squeeze into the tiniest spots.. they're often the ones that cuts in to a car lane at the last possible moment ala James bond style... then there is the motorists... bountiful and extremely noisy... its amazing to see how that tiny thing can sit 4 ppl... the father, the mother, and the 2 kids... often about 2-5 years old... , they're also always found in one car parking spot, even if there are assigned motorbike parkings... then there is the local buses... which are to be avoided at peak hours/when office hours begin and end. the whole objective of riding in a bus is to experience being crushed into a tin of sardines...it is often deemed best to clutch anything that appears solid as most bus drivers seem to be unaware of traffic manners...

truly though... it isn't that bad... oh, and watch out for the novice drivers.. their the ones with the "P" sign in front and at the back of the cars...

there's travelling in Malaysia for you!
