While my father was having his 6 mths obssesion with finding religion, he took me and a bro along in this ceremony. This was at a temple in Brickfields, Kuala Lumpur... i'm sorry i can't remember exactly what is it called. This was the breaking fast of a group of meditators, and the congregation of monks. The whole idea was for ppl to come and visit, and increase your "karma". At the same time, you can donate some money to the monastery. Ppl will pray at the beginning, and then offer food to monks and fellow meditators. It is a very cool perspective of participating in a diff. culture. I believe this is an annual ritual, though i can't pinpoint an exact date. After offering food, go visit the altars, and make a prayer!
