"Beijing" a Beijing Travel Page by chatterley

I've visited Beijing thrice. The first time I went there was in 1998, and it was a family trip (Dad, Mom, brothers and myself); I visited this place again in 2000, bringing my students there for a learning journey; the last visit was in 2002, attending a 3-week course at the Beijing Normal University.

Everytime I went to Beijing, I'd marvel at the rate at which things are moving and changing....back in 1998, the attitude of those people who worked in the service industry really sucked! By 2002, they had made vast improvements. I'm certain that Beijing would keep getting better and better (especially since the 2008 Olympic Games are coming soon)!

Since my last visit is 3 years ago, I will not be adding lots of tips on restaurants and accommodations (don't wish to mislead anyone - standards might have improved, or dropped!). Instead, I'd try to focus on culture and history (for eg. the bloody history of the Forbidden City's "Wu Men").
