Restaurant Name: Sinh Cafe
After the full day tour, seeing the Cao Dai Temple and Cu Chi tunnels, we returned to HCMC at around 6pm...It had been 5 hours since we had lunch, and hubby was starving after he did the tunnel-walk. When the bus took us back to Sinh Cafe in De Tham Street, we were so hungry and tired that we decided to pop right in and have a bite. We ordered their steamed spring rolls, which was quite delicious. You get 5 huge pieces of spring rolls (filled with prawns, bits of chicken, vermicelli, lemmon grass, etc) for just 25000VND.

Restaurant Name: Lemongrass
We were walking around the area near our hotel, looking for food, and we found this nice little restaurant. After tasting the steamed spring rolls at Sinh Cafe, we wanted more..and we were delighted to see that this restaurant served a different version - instead of prawns or pork / chicken, the filling was grilled beef. Our verdict? Good! We also ordered two other main courses, but this dish was simply the best.
Favorite Dish: The spring roll with grilled beef filling!

Restaurant Name: Pho 24
This outlet was just oppsite the Lemograss restaurant. I had my first taste of pho in Vietnam, in this little eatery. The pho bo was ok, the soup slightly too salty for my liking. The price was reasonable, just 24000VND per bowl.

Restaurant Name: Pho Hoa
Thanks to tips from VTer bpacker, we decided to try the pho at this restaurant, and we were certainly not disappointed! The beef was tender, the pho was smooth and slides down your throat...very GOOD! This had to be the best pho bo we've eaten in HCMC! We were lucky that we tried this restaurant on our last day in HCMC...if we had eaten here on the very first day of arrival, we probably could not bear to eat the pho at other restaurants, and had to keep coming back! Yes, it really was that good...and we were glad we saved the best for last. The only problem was that no staff seemed to understand English, and we had a bit of trouble getting the waiter to know what we wanted.
