This trip marked our 5th Wedding Anniversary ... ...Yep! My hubby has successfully endured 5 long years of living with me (aka HELL)! We decided to celebrate by going to a nearby island resort for a short trip, and Phuket seems to be the perfect choice (turquoise seawater, soft white sand, beautiful hotels and resorts).
Unfortunately, our trip was cut short as the airline company revised its flight schedule, so instead of arriving in Phuket in the early morning (13 June), we arrived at about 9 pm, effectively wasting one full day. Nevertheless, we managed to have fun, and hubby and I both agree that we'll be back soon! |

| | Day Trip to Phang Nga Bay The best part of this trip is the "James Bond 007 Tour". We really love Roger Moore (we thought he's the best 007 ever), and going on this trip is really a "must do" for us.
The itinerary of this day trip includes: -- longtail boat trip to Phang Nga Bay -- sea canoe tour of the limestone caves and lagoons -- James Bond Island (Khao Ping Kan) -- Thai lunch at Koh Panyee (muslim fishing village) -- ox cart riding |
| | Mudskipper! I've always been fascinated with mudskippers (those amphibian fish which could "walk" on the beach and survive out of the water), but I've never seen one....(they can actually be found in Singapore) until we went to Phang Nga Bay!
Here's some nuggets of information on Phuket, for those of you who have not been there but plan to do so: -- Phuket is the largest island of Thailand, the main island itself has an area of about 539 squre km. -- 70% of the area are mountains. -- Only 2 seasons in a year: Rainy season (May to Oct) & Hot season (Nov to April). -- Total Population of about 289,300 with 71% being Thai-Buddhist, 25% Muslim and 4% Chao Le (Sea Gypsies). |
