Northern Light

Healy, 11 miles north of Denali National Park

A lake in Healy
Although I actually live in Fairbanks, one of my favorite places to go in the summer is Denali National Park. However, it can often be overloaded with tourists and locals, so I prefer to camp in Healy and then drive, bike or hike to the Park entrance. There are still great chances to see bears, moose, and other wildlife! It is actually warmer in the summers than most people realize with temperatures ranging from 65 to 95 degrees F!

Early morning snowfall

1st real snowfall October 10, 2005

We finally got more than a dusting on the 10th. This is a picture I took outside of work. Now we really can go out and PLAY!!!

Dear Santa...

I need a new digital camera!!!

Or I'll just wait until I get my Tax Return...

<<sigh>>
ran out of color ink...
Shasta Daisy

24 hours of sunshine in the summer!

We have quite the growing season in the Interior of Alaska! My daisies loved the additional sunlight!

Aerial view of my neighborhood.

As you may be able to tell, the Chena River wraps around the area that I live. This area is called Island Homes, although it is not an island...
Can you see me waving from my kitchen window? :)
Snowmachine? Snowmobile? Depends on where you live

Winter fun

I really enjoyed riding out in the open terrain! Wind in your hair, and icicles in your eyelashes!!!

I'll be at the Loon on the 21st of January!

Every other year I do the Fairbanks Funny Festival comedy workshop. I then get to perform with the other 20 or so 'students' on either that Friday or Saturday. I've been lucky enough to OPEN for some of the comedians in the national circuits, or as a fill-in for our local stand up comics, when I'm not doing the workshops.
I'm on the far left...
I'm CEO of the 5-6 year olds clay arts association

My 1st day of school...

...I was the ONLY kid that showed up with a briefcase!
