Discovering Barcelona | the famous lizard of Parc Guell |
Barcelona is an amazing city filled with art, architecture and many things to do. It is the capital of Catalunya and the first language is definitely Catalan. However that said it is a city which is completely bilingual with signs in both Spanish and Catalan. A captivating place which will entice you with its language, people, sights and nightlife and an amazing history which holds sights dating from the Roman era. |
| | Wandering the city It is imperative not to miss out on any of the main attractions in Barcelona, there are the creations of Gaudi, Temple Sagrada Familia, Parc Guell, Casa Battlo and La Pedrera. Near the town center, there is passeig de gracia with shops, and restaurants. Las Ramblas is near by it's famous for it's street performers, flower booths and surprisingly you can even find petbooths!! You can also see the boqueria market and the Liceu Opera House. Close by is el Barri Gotico which houses gothic era buildings and La Catedral La Seu. |
La Sagrada Familia An inside view of the Temple Sagrada Famila. Once inside the Temple Sagrada Familia you will see a lot of construction. Yet with some imagination you will also see that one day the inside will match the outside in its allure. This stain glass window is an example of one thing that you won't be able to see if you don't go inside. If you do you should also climb the steep staircase for a view of the city and an up close look at the designs. | | | Stained glass window inside La Sagrada Familia |
