  • last i heard the mercado de cristal or san miguel was closed. the Rastro (Ribera de curtidores street, towards puerta de toledo ) is was and will be still the best place to go to the mercado. Also for books go to Cuesta de Moyano, connecting Prado museum with the Retiro park. cuesta is downslope street in spanish so its like Moyano street.

  • the area north of plaza Colon are an oasis of high rise buildings, wide avenues, and seldom walk by tourists, but gives another view of the city, which help to understand it as a whole.
Plaza de Castilla has towers, monuments, and exhibitions centers (then Jedi master of STar Wars), as well as parks with excellent shopping centers at MODA and AZCA.

  • build around the year 1970 it harbors a great mosaic painting of Joan Miro and holds events, concerts, and conventions. It is by far the largest convention center in Spain and can welcome as much as 2000 persons. For those on business or looking to hold an event, this is the place to be/ very near the Santiago Bernabeu stadium, the Ministry of Defense and the Nuevos Ministerios govt buildings. Its tourist attraction lies in seen one excellent work of art of Joan Miro.
car parking plaza Joan Miro next to it, and it sits right on ave General Peron and Castellana, with exact location ^paseo de la Castellana 99; metro line 8 nuevos ministerios or line 10 santiago bernabeu.train Chamartin is very close about 5 mins
