Paris - a feast for the eyes!

A little celebration!

Christine and Yvonne at the Louvre
Went to Paris to visit my friend Brigitte and her family - her son is now nearly 14 and i havent seen them for over ten years! Its horrendous how time flies more quickly as i get older (just had my birthday so it is going to be hard getting used to that extra digit!)

Brigitte lives in Santeny outside the city, but we took several trips on the RER and did a bit of sightseeing with my sister Christine. I still love the size and grandeur of the place, the coffee shops, bars and parks, the flowing Seine and the only thing now after so many years is the feeling that tourists are just swamping the city - where have all the Parisians gone!???
Notre Dame, from the river

Views from the River Seine

The Seine is wide and quite lovely to go down on a boat, and its amazing how much can be seen from this angle, great views!
La Tour Eiffel, October 06

The famous pinnacle!

Well its a credit to the French sense of style and drama that this monument has wide spaces around it for us all to enjoy - have taken several pictures but this is my favourite!

Pros:"Fabulously over the top architecture, grand avenues and stylish shops, lush parks, coffee bars, music venues, transportation isnt too bad either!"
Cons:"the crush of tourists at all times of the year!"
In A Nutshell:"A feast for the senses!"

Lovely page on Paris. I agree the Eiffel Tower is special despite all the crowds.

Glad you had such a good return visit to Paris. I went back in June after a long absence. I've done the bateaux mouche thing in other cities like Strasbourg and Amsterdam, but never in Paris. Really must do so next time.
