Jaisalmer Travel Guide: 387 reviews and 1,375 photos
This small peaceful town in the Thar dessert is one of my favourite places in Rajasthan. The 'living' fort with its narrow streets, friendly inhabitants and beautiful havelis is the main attraction.
A camel trek around Jaisalmer from 1 to 5 days is a must and the best way to get a real taste of the life in the desert.
Havelis are extremely beautiful mansions with very detailed carved golden stone facades.

I recommend getting a jeep ride at the beginning of the trek, so you save forty or fifty km of pain in your behind.... more travel advice

Their English is very basic (just a few words) but they have an ability to learn rude Spanish words and the Macarena... more travel advice
