Cca. 200 km from Nairobi (roughly 3 hours drive). It takes at least 4 days to climb up to (and then come down from) the top (and, I guess, it needs appropriate physical conditions) but you can do some shorter (half or full day) hiking at the lower slopes.
We entered the Mount Kenya National Park at the Naro Moru Gate and we wanted to reach the meteorological station at 3000 m (9800 feet) but due to the heavy rain we had to turn back. |
