Jama Masjid, the largest mosque in India, a fine example of Mughal architecture was built in 1656 by the emperor Shah Jahan to complement his palace in the Red fort. See more pix in my Travelogue.

Closely linked with India's history this elegant mansion was built by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in 1648. The fort walls extend from two kilometers and vary in height from 18 to 33 meters. The main entrance of the Red Fort, Lahori Gate faces the famous Chandni Chowk market.
