The main attractions in La Fortuna I think are the Arenal volcano, the waterfall, and the hotsprings. There are a lot of little cabins you can rent that have a view of the volcano, which is active and often spews magma. There are some fabulous and dramatic pictures of this, but you should be aware that it does not do it all the time, and it is often covered by clouds. We saw the top of the volcano twice while we were here and we didn't see any magma, but it was still a cool place. I loved the Tabacon hot springs and the beautiful La Fortuna waterfall. |
