Lisa's Travels

by elji - last update: Dec 5, 2004

Mike and I just returned from Costa Rica this last week. We had a wonderful time! We visited Manuel Antonio/Quepos area (beach and national park), the cloud forest high up in the mountains in Monteverde, and La Fortuna, where the Arenal Volcano is.

California

I live in Palo Alto, California, USA, which is in Silicon Valley, a hub for technological innovation and development. We are 30 miles south of San Francisco. I enjoy hiking, biking, and kayaking around here. There are also a lot of good restaurants, chances to hear good music (in San Francisco), and see art.

New Mexico

I grew up in Las Cruces, New Mexico, and also lived for a while in Albuquerque. Las Cruces is in the desert, at an altitude of about 4500 feet. It has sunshine 360 days per year, and beautiful sunsets. There is only 7 inches of rain each year.

Other places I've been

Japan, Hong Kong, India, Canada, Italy, Russia, and Mexico .... These are some places I was fortunate to travel to between the time I was 11 and 30. Many trips were with my dad and stepmother. I went to Russia by myself and to Mexico with two friends from school. I think travelling so much when I was younger especially helped me to have a good sense of all the diversity in the world.
