Rotorua is another great little city. As you approach the city you actually smell it before you see it. The city smell of sulphur or "rotten egg" and you will see steam coming out from the ground all around the city areas.
The area is well-known for two things; trout fishing and hot water. The nearby lakes of Rotorua, Rotoiti, Okataina and Tarawera are justly famous fishing spots. |
| | Maori Culture Most foreign visitors to Rotorua come to experience some local maori culture. The show is alive and well in sulphur city abide more like a stage show. Nevertheless the performances are interesting and give you an insight into some aspect of Maori culture. |
