"The Mount." Mount Maunganui by Robdaz

I have been to Mount Maunganui a number of times . It is a great holiday destination with fantastic surf and white sandy beaches. In the summer especially on the weekend, this place is packed.

The main town itself is only a few minutes drive from Tauranga's city centre and is dominated by apartment building and a few shops and lots of cafes.

Main Beach.

With the perfect blue sky and sea providing the backdrop, main beach is a great place to relax , catch the sun and watch a game of volleyball, surfing and other beach goers doing their thing.

Papamoa Beach.

If you looking for something a little quiet and less crowded head down the main road towards Papamoa Domain and the long stretch of white sandy Papamoa Beach, about 10 minutes drive away.

• Cons:Crowded, noisy, party town!
