"Wellington - The Capital City.." Wellington by Robdaz

Wellington is the capital city of New Zealand and the city is set up like a natural amphitheatre with the lush green hills dotted with houses facing the harbour and Cook straits beyond.

Most travellers used Wellington more like a transit point stopping just long enough to catch the ferry to the South Island. Most of the foreign Embassies and High Commission Offices are also located as the city is the administrative centre of the government in the country.

There are a very lively Arts Scene here with lots of theatres and some very good restaurants and pubs along Courtney Place.

The Lions.......

This impressive looking lion are one of several guarding the war memorial at the junction of Victoria Street and Jervois Quay near the Parliament Grounds.
