Adelboden | View of Adelboden from the Engstligenalp |
Just back from 10 days in Adelboden.
The town/village is pretty small, with a small supermarket, a few bars, several coffee shops/chocolatiers, and loads of expensive outdoor clothes shops. |
| | The surrounding area is beautiful. We stayed down in the valley about 20 minutes walk up into town, but this was worth it if only for the view of the Engstligenalp waterfall, mountain and glacier.
You can get a cable car up to the top of the falls, there is one every 30 minutes, but they do stop running for lunch!
The base of the waterfall is about 1 hours walk from the the town centre, but it is a lovely walk by a river most of the way. If you don't fancy the walk there is a bus but the walk is worthwhile even if you only do it one way. |
Nature Switzerland is very pretty in the summer. It is really unspoilt with lovely scenery and beautiful flowers. | | |
