St Michael's Mount on a misty day! - Saint Michaels Mount

The "Island"

St Michael's Mount is a small island with a fantastic medieval castle and beautiful church on it.

At high tide it is only accessible by boat. There is a plentiful supply of small ferry boats to take you out to the island. They seat about 10 people and it only costs £1 or £2.

At low tide you can walk out/ or back along the causeway.

My only word of warning is the steepness of the walk once you get to the island. The path that leads you from the islands harbour up to the castle and church is very steep indeed, but if you take your time and don't try to do it in world record speed you will be ok!

The Gardens

The gardens were a real surprise as I didn't expect them to even be there. They are packed with plants not normally seen in England as the climate on that part of the coast allows it.

I would really recommend a stroll around these gardens as they are a real treat.

Interesting page! At first, I thought that it was a page about Skelig Michael, another scenic island of UK! I did not know there was a Saint Michaels Mount in UK
