Tarangire National Park

Mother and calf
Tarangire in June is very quiet. There are not many other tourists there, and infact, over the 36 hours I spent in the park I only saw two other landrovers in the park.

This quietness means that it is like having the whole park to yourself and it is lovely.
The Boabab in the evening

The Boabab Tree

The park is home to hundreds of Boabab trees. They are ancient magnificent trees with huge trunks. The elephants love to dig their tusks into the bark of it's trunk as they contain loads of water.

They are also called the Upside-down tree because it's branches look like they could be the tree's roots but the other way up.
gracious giraffe

No hurries

As we had the park practically to ourselves we had all the time we wanted to watch the world go by.

The giraffe move so graciously.

I liked this park, it was the first one we visited in Tansania. Also it really is not so overcrowded, you are so right with that.
