I did not really have much choice in accomodation although after my first stay, which was in Eastwood (if anything is dead in Sydney, that place is), I decided I wanted something else so I ended up in Parramatta, which is called the second center of Sydney..

Meriton built a brand new apartment building here right next to the Parramatta river. It's location is perfect, there is a rivercat connection right down the back going straight into Circular Quay. It has its' own parking garage (at 15 dollars a night), it within walking distance of Church Street with all its restaurants and is close enough to the train station and Westfield Shopping Centre.

The only downside depends on which apartment you are appointed. I had the bad luck to be on the 4th floor, which is actually 1 floor above ground facing a blind wall, but with a 40 M2 terrace. Because of the blind wall, the noise from the neighbours bounced straight into my bedroom.

At 850 dollars a week (negotiated price because of 9 weeks stay) it's not that cheap but for Sydney pricing, fully furnished and serviced not that bad either.

Unique Qualities: Because it is brand new, the amenities are quite good. You have a nice apartment fitted with everything you need, from a fridge to a dishwasher, a microwave and even a toaster. The building has a pool and a gym so you can even workout...

Directions: From the north drive down Church Street and turn left at the end of Church Street. It has a nice big sign saying Meriton Apartments on the outside so you can't miss it.
