Sep. 6, 2006.This is where I first tried the poisonous puffer fish ( fugu in Japanese) & survived it! I prefer it raw, ie, sashimi. This is my third (probably 4th) visit to this region of Japan. It is the most diversified & interesting region in terms of Japanese culture. It was once the capital of Japan. It's also where one finds the most concentrated World Heritage sites in Japan. In addition, the most beautiful city for cherry blossom viewing. To meet any geisha, you'll have to venture to this part of Japan.
