"In Memory of Armando" a Europe Travel Page by SharrieShaw

It was here in Europe I met some of the most hospitable Europeans from VT. One of the most memorable is Armando Sabrosa.
It was also on this last trip to Europe that I was informed of his passing away.
It was the saddest news anyone could come across while traveling on the very same continent he lived in. He was from Portugal. He's an archaelogist & worked in Sintra. That was where I first met him 3 years ago. A cheerful disposition & a kind hearted person. A friend lost forever, except perhaps only in the heart & memory of the living.

I had been traveling continuously for the past 3 years & had not been writing much since my return from Antarctica (2004). I still owed Armando those Portugal pages. Hopefully, I'll get to all of them before this year ends. Unfortunately, I had been suffering from what they call "writer's block", not that I was any writer to begin with. I hate writing but I'd like to honor his memory by sharing with whoever cares to read about our times together when I first visited his country; Portugal - a beautiful & marvelous country.

In addition, thanks to these other vters who had made my stay in their home country a most memorable & pleasant experience: Atte & Tiina, Ivan, Boris, Tom & Gonnie, Laszlo, Attila, Robert, Helga & last but not least Oliver!
