Favorite thing: Mostly everyone will need a visa to enter Cambodia. For most nationalities it's visa on arrival.
Visas on arrival are available at Phnom Pehn and Siem Reap airports. $20USD for a normal visa, $25 USD for a work visa. Makes sure you have passport photos with you. You will also need an extra one to get the temple pass,which covers admission to Angkor Wat, etc.

If you are coming overland from Thailand by Poipet or Koh Kong you will have to get a visa in Bangkok ahead of time. Same goes with people entering from Vietnam.

In Singapore, you can get your visa either on arrival if flying into Cambodia or go to the Cambodian Embassy. Which is located on Beach Road at the Gateway Buildings. For a few extra dollars, they will do the visa on the spot.

To extend the visa: They are granted in Phnom Pehn by the Direction des Etrangers, which is located at the Ministry of Information. Located on Phlauv (PH) 200. off of Norodom Blvd. Tourist visas can only be extended once for one or three months. Business visas can be extended indefnately. There are some hefty fees for extending your visa. One week extension costs $20USD. A month extension is $30USD.
