Restaurant Name: Esca at Bimbadgen Estate

If you want to have a great lunch and splurge, i highly recommend this restaurant. They have a lovely view of vineyards and the valley. The view is not as good as in the photographs, since housing developments are being constructed. Anyway, it's still beautiful. We had probably the best meal of our trip here. For starter, fried zucchini flower pakoras with goat cheese and mint salad. My husband had a beet root tart with kangaroo fillet, which he said was amazing. I had a scotch eye fillet, that was a bit tough with potatoes and my husband had duck. For dessert, we had a sticky banana passionfruit pudding that was lovely. The service was good. Highly Recommended!

Restaurant Name: Shakey Tables @ Hunter Country Lodge

This is a beautiful folky kind of place. The head chef is responsible for all the painted artwork and funky interior. The food is minimalist and unique, using local ingredients. Their house wines are their own label.

Lovely food, but the prices are on the high side. I think the mains were around $32 bucks a person and they aren't huge poritions. I had a fantastic wagyu beef stew that was amazing. A very romantic restaurant full of candles and bright colors.
