Pure Earth: Nice Indian Fashions

Pure Earth is a nice, but small clothes store in the Holland Village shopping center. They sell lovely handmade Indian style clothes made in Mumbai. They have larger sizes and can make clothes for you (but this takes time). They have nice scarves.

Kokon Tozai: Japanese items with a twist

This boutique sells purses and home accessories made from Japanese kimono. Very interesting designs.

Holland Village Shopping Center: Great for homewares and Asian crafts

This may not be the most attractive mall, but it has great shops inside. A lot of housewares, such as Lims-a favorite for most visitors. You can find art, clothes, Thai textiles, laquerware-all sorts of things.

There is cafe 211 on the third floor-which is quite good. They have an indoor section and outdoor garden. There are more shops and restaurants around. Check out Jalan Merah Saga, which is behind the POSB bank building (across the street from the Holland Village shopping center).

Mustafa: Singaporean institution Little India Review

Mustafa is a big department store off of Serangoon Road. It's very big, hectic and has lots of good deals. Also, it's open 24 hours. If you need luggage, housewares, Indian goodies or Indian prepackaged foods-this is the place to go.

Wheelock Center: lots of shops and restaurants.

The Wheelock Center, located on Orchard Road is most known for it's conical roof design. Inside, there are a lot of great shops and restaurants. One highlight is Borders books.

For restaurants, there is dome, borders bistro(quite good) nooch, nydc and a few others.

Orchard Road: Everybody loves Orchard Road Orchard Road Review

Orchard Road is very popular on weekends. Lots of people cruise the avenues, while others are rushing by with their shopping bags in tow. On weekends, this is the place to be.

You will realize that Singaporean stores like to group their shops. For instance, there is the children's mall (the forum and tanglin mall), the hip teenager mall(far east plaza)

Ngee Ann City and Paragon -are all about brand name items. Fendi, Gucci, Shanghai Tang, Tiffany, Cartier and etc.

On sundays the Philippino maids have off and you will see them enjoying themselves-having picnics and such.

Most of the department stores-have very good cafes and restaurants in their basement levels.
