Chiang Mai is surrounded by a few mountains, which makes it an excellent place to go trekking or mountain biking. The city is known for their beautiful wats. There are many distractions here and you won't get bored. For instance, you can try elephant riding or cooking classes.
Chiang mai is the gateway to the golden triangle area (laos and burma). There is wonderful trekking in the area and water falls to swim in. You can visit the various hilltribes that live in the area. From Chiang Mai, you can take side trips to Mae Hong Son and Pai. |
