Being at Sirocco is an experience. It's located at the top of the Dome building in Silom. The whole restaurant is outdoors and is lovely on a clear night. There is a bar at one end that has tables right by the edge. Don't worry about dropping your drink off a table, they have small nets under the glass ledges by the bar. But i still wouldn't try it. The food is good. The main courses were excellent. My husband had the lamb and i the beef. The desserts were not so good, that i remember. They do have a dessert buffet in the middle of the restaurant, but we went for a la carte.
Overall, it's a great place for a romantic dinner and not for anyone that has fear of heights. If you are nervous about heights and still want to go, you can get a table in the middle of the restaurant or near the bathrooms.
It's a very expensive restaurant. I ordered a glass of champagne without looking at the prices and was shocked at how expensive it was. Reminded me of being back in New York City.
If you just want to come for the experience, then just grab a drink by the bar. The view is stunning!

A Garden restaurant, Bangkok
This is a restaurant serving a large array of International food. They have a lovely small garden and a beautiful dinning room. I love how they run water down the windows-nice touch. When we were there, you could either have the barbeque buffet or their regular menu. We went for the regular menu. Our table had for appetizers: parm ham with rock melon (cantelope) and gorgonzola, escargots, fried soft shell crab. For dinner, you have a large variety to choose from. From simple pizza to formal steaks or fish dishes. My husband had the tuna steak, which he said was quite good. We had two bottles of Australian red wine, which was a good value compared to other restaurants. The desserts looked kind of bland, so we skipped it. I would eat here again.

shot of the dessert sampler
This is a nice place for a little splurge. High end Royal Thai food done so well, but not breaking the bank. I have been here two times over my travels to the city. Always wanting to go back-but also want to explore Bangkok's other restaurants.
Lovely, appetizer assortment. The shrimp ones resemble birds. Great green, massaman curries. Service is great. You have to try the dessert sampler.
I think they have a lunch buffet there.
This place is located at the bottom floor of an office building.

This place is great. We went with friends for dinner and it was lovely. You need to book far in advance for a bed on weekend nights. Every week ,the chef does a new suprise menu. The dinner is a set price and has a few suprise courses. When they take your drink order, you can always tell them what you do and don' t eat. One of my friends was vegetarian and this wasn't a problem. When we were there, their menu was Cambodian fusion and was delicious! Between courses, they had models in various Thai hilltribe outfits moving through the restaurant. It's worth to come here for a drink and check out this cool space ship white on white looking restaurant. It's beautiful!

yummy Lao food
This is a really nice simple Lao restaurant. Lots of great North Thai/ Lao sausage, a dish called a lop-stirfried ground pork with lots of herbs served in cabbage leaves. You will see the French influence. I like the grilled steak with the sticky grice (glutinous). It's always nice to mop sauces or curries with the sticky rice. Have great som tom(papaya salad). Wish they had some beer lao-but unfortunately, they can't get that out of Laos.
Recently, this restaurant has moved to a larger location in an old Thai house in Silom. I haven't been to that location yet, but here is the info.

the dining scene at Crepes & Company, Bangkok
This is a beautiful restaurant serving a huge range of food. We went here for a sunday brunch. The place is famous for crepes of course. Lots of savory and sweet crepes. You can also go for the large set brunch, which is a ton of yummy food for around 500 Baht. The menu is of European origin. The waiters look like they are straight of Paris, with their stripped shirts, bistro aprons and berets. The restaurant serves lunch and dinner. This place is very popular with locals and expats. So i highly recommend reservations, otherwise you may have to wait for a table. They also have a lovely garden, so i would recommend an outdoor table if you can get it.
Also, this place is very popular with families and is child friendly. In the waiting area, there are racks of magazines for the adults and toys for the kids to play with. There is a special children's menu.

i berry
This is a great Thai icecream stand. They make lots of flavors and change them quickly. Try the jackfruit, durian, apple sorbets. Or go for the rich nutella and vanilla ice cream.
Unfortunately, i don't have the correct address. But it's buy the cafe de laos and hard rock cafe in Siam.

good eats
The Chatuchak weekend market is the best reason to stay in Bangkok over the weekend. It's amazing. With all the shopping and weaving through the tight curves of the market-you will get hungry. There are lots of good and cheap food to be had. Everything from hawkers selling goodies, to fish cakes, sweet kuehs to sit down restaurants. It's not worth it to leave the market for being hungry. If you are tired that's one thing, but there are some nice food here. Even one halal self serve cafe in the clothes section.

Thai dance at silom trade village center
I went here with some family members and it was an alright experience. A little overpriced for the food that you could have gotten somewhere else-but hey, they have some Thai dance. There is a large thai seafood restaurant that surrounds the stage.
This place isn't worth it if you are coming from another part of the city. They have these restaurant/dance shows everywhere. It's good if you are close by and are tired and want something close by. Also, ify ou want to see some dance. Otherwise, stick to some of the other restaurants nearby.
