"Lajas" Lajas by Marinel

Lajas is famous for its main touristic attraction, Phosphorescent Bay (La Parguera) , a place where luminescent dinoflagellates of different colors appear when the water moves. The origin of the colored lights is the object of many legends. Lajas is also a fishing town.

The entrance of Bahia Sucia

Talk about a misnomer. Bahía Sucia means "Dirty Bay" in Spanish, but nothing could be further from the truth at one of Puerto Rico's most beautiful surprises. Bahía Sucia is located at the end of Route 301 in Cabo Rojo, along Puerto Rico's Southwest Coast. I lived in PR for 17 years and I most say that this is a hidden treasure, one of the most secluded and mesmerizing places I've been so far in my 38 years of living.
