Kansas City is said to have more fountains than any city except Rome, and I would believe it. They are everywhere. They are scattered throughout the city, but some of the most famous are in the Plaza area south of downtown Kansas City.

Kansas City has quite a history. Fort Osage, which is located in Northeast Jackson County was built by the government to trade fur with the indians in 1808. And in 1820 the population of the area was 10,222 in an area of 66,247 square miles.

There are many wonderful old buildings to check out around downtown Kansas City.
